Five Apps to Help You Get Your Fashion Fix

If you guys are anything like me, you're slightly addicted to your cellphones. We live in a society that's always evolving, and searching for the "latest and greatest" gadgets to make our lives easier. Our infatuation with "the next big thing" can be detrimental; however, this innovation has spurred change in so many different places - such as the fashion industry - and has made content more accessible to the masses.

I may not have $30,000 to buy a ticket to the Met Gala (I mean, seriously, who does?) or be influential enough to get invited to the CFDA Awards, BUT through the power of technology, we all have access to apps that keep us updated on what's going on in the fashion world. From runways to virtual closets to complete "fashionaries" (fashion dictionaries), here are a few apps I love that will help you get your fashion fix!

Yes, they finally made an app that's compatible with iPhone. What I love about this app is that when you open it, you'll find eight new stories ready for you to view each day. You can also bounce from category to category (fashion, beauty, living, culture, etc.) and save whichever article catches your eye - so you can read it offline!

Watching "Project Runway" and can't distinguish espadrilles from wedges? THIS is the app for you. Although there are no pictures to accompany the definitions, FAD is great for learning new style terms (plus saving your favorites) and the history behind the business. For example, when I first heard about the CFDA Awards, I had no clue what they were. I decided to look it up in FAD and here's what it said:

"CFDA is an abbreviation of the 'Council of Fashion Designers of America', a non-profit trade association of over 350 of America's foremost fashion and accessory designers. The CFDA was founded in 1962 and as of 2009, Diane von Fuerstenberg is the group's President while Steven Kolb is the Executive Director. RELATED: Diane Von Furstenberg"

SO helpful!

Now, most of you bloggers out there know what Polyvore is. For those of you that don't know, Polyvore is an app (co-founded by Jess Lee) that allows you to discover the latest fashion trends and shop for products you love - all while creating your own personal look! Let your imagination and creativity run wild.

If your closet constantly looks like my tennis bag during the Spring, it's chaotic. Stylebook takes care of the clutter by providing you with a virtual closet. You take pictures of all of your clothes and upload them to the app. Then, when you need to plan for tomorrow's #OOTD, everything you could ever wear is in the palm of your hands. I personally don't use Stylebook, but the concept seems very cool! Some say it's almost like Cher Horowitz's closet has come to life...

Want updates straight from the runway? Vogue Runway is THE go-to app. It's easy to use, offers high quality photos, and gives commoners (like you and me) access to almost every show, both past and present. New York Fashion Week is to die for (and don't get me wrong, the app is amazing, too), but Vogue Runway covers everything under the sun. From the Berlin Spring 2017 show to Fall 1991 Ready-to-Wear, Vogue Runway has it all.

I hope you guys download these apps for yourselves and see if you love them as much as I do! Comment down below what your favorite style (or shopping) app is! Don't forget to follow me on social media: instagram | tumblr pinterest | twitter | snapchat: brainsandburb
